It's a suburb of Donetsk City and they wanted it bad.

Ukraine has been fortunate Putin is such a fool, he keeps getting fixated on these small cities with no strategic value just because Ukraine still holds them. The result is absolute carnage. The ratio of Russian to Ukrainian KIAs in this one is estimated at 13:1 because Ukraine was so completely dug in and had turned that coke plant into a fortress.

I knew 10 days ago when I saw people being hauled out of their houses with whatever they could carry that Ukraine was getting ready to leave.
