last night I came home, was getting ready for bed, and I suggested to my wife that we should have an open marriage, because there is this really really hot woman in my practice who is after me in the worst way.
I awakened an hour later in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Emergency Room. They told me to be careful of post-concussion syndrome and that my arms and legs would function pretty well once the casts were removed. They weren't sure about the prognosis of the penile reattachment, however.

(110,159 posts)i would be out the door grabbing me a man. not hard to find. and sex is after all, just sex. none of that emotional garbage women are given to keep them in line. he is well aware, will be a lot easier for me to find a man to fuck than the other way around.
not a chance in hell he would be so stupid to make such a suggestion.
just to share the other side of the coin.

(4,840 posts)i'm sure he could find a man to fuck in no time.
I'm a little confused, though, as to why you, as a feminist (yes?), would be so quick to include yourself in the meat market and renounce, I would assume, verbal communication as "emotional garbage". You don't regard all communication as manipulation I hope, or are you referring to a specific kind?
seabeyond
(110,159 posts)i would no more do it than pc would do it.
as far as the emotional garbage, it has been the argument to me the last couple weeks that men just like sex, whereas women have an emotional connection with sex.
i told myself years and more ago, no to manipulation. any kind. i say what i mean. to be clear, and not make anyone struggle to figure out what i might be saying.

(4,840 posts)depends on their experiences and one can't always pin point a person's internal make up according to gender. To be sure, women are women and men are men but we are first both human and lot of what we believe about ourselves we may attribute to gender when it really is driven by environmental and cultural factors.
Anyway, your posts are always interesting and I enjoy them, especially the ones from a seemingly feminist perspective (which many seem to be from), so your latest one surprised me.

My wife doesn't find that funny at all (although her sister thinks it's hysterical).

(38,002 posts)I had more than one married man proclaim to me that his wife was "open-minded and didn't care" if he fooled around.
I would then reply: "Really? Then let's call her up and double check."
For some strange reason, those men stopped hitting on me after I would say that.
Awesome.

I'm old and gray, but I still occasionally hear such silliness. The demographic just gets older, though obviously, not wiser. I will use your approach next time,

why is it supposed to be funny when a man gets beaten up by his wife? I don't get that.
what if you were a woman, PC, and had the same story, were we supposed to vote for a DUzy then as well?
sorry to piss on your joke tho
