Greta Van Susteren: The Obama Administration Is Trying To Punish Fox News

Greta Van Susteren: The Obama Administration Is Trying To Punish Fox News
Posted by Mark on November 21, 2012 at 1:10 pm.

Poor Greta Van Susteren. Her Fox News program has lately been lagging in the ratings behind MSNBC’s “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell.” And now she is feeling neglected by the Obama administration.

In a post on her Greatawire blog, Van Sustern has resorted to copious use of BRIGHT RED FONTS WITH ALL CAPITAL LETTERS to express her dismay at being left out of all the reindeer games. She laments that Fox News was overlooked by the State Department when media briefings were held for various news organizations. She whines that this is “playing dirty” and was being done “to punish Fox” for their critical reporting.
ME:

Van Susteren: The Administration in what looks like a coordinated effort is denying Fox access to information that they are handing out to other news organizations. Why exclude Fox? That is simple – to punish — to try to teach us a lesson not to pry, not to look further for facts.

Van Susteren fails to disclose that the State Department had previously explained why Fox was not included in previous briefings and press releases. It had nothing to do with punishment. The State Department distributed their information to news organizations that had reporters who were assigned to cover the department. Fox News has no such reporters so they didn’t get on the list. In fact, Fox has a shoe-string news operation that doesn’t concentrate on actual reporting. Most of their “news” assets are allocated to anchors, analysts, and pundits, who are not doing any bona fide journalism. In short, the State Department had no one to notify and they weren’t going to send notices to everyone with a Fox News email address.

snip//

Van Susteren: To the extent we get anything wrong is because the Administration is doing whatever it can to thwart us from getting the facts.

On the contrary, it would be more correct to say that to the extent you deliberately distort the facts, the administration is under no obligation to help you continue to get everything wrong. Van Susteren is, incredibly, blaming Fox’s mistakes on Obama. Nobody forced Fox to wade so far out into delusional speculation. In fact, based on their body of work, it appears to be their corporate mission. And the administration can hardly be criticized (or accused of punishment) if they should be reluctant to further that mission.

Bush made it his life's work to only interview with Foxsy types during 8 years.

The fact that State has a rational explanation only makes it better. I'd argue the Bush administration went 8 years without transparent rhyme or fact based reason for almost all of its actions. Fox bragged about it most times.

"To the extent we get anything wrong" . . .?!? When do you propagandists get anything correct?!

There's a reason why Romney lost BIG time, and crushed the hopes and dreams of the uninformed and low-informed in this country for a fascist government . . . it's because of Fixed News' propensity to LIE in favor of the GOP.

I say you all at Fox "News" Channel are getting just desserts. [IMG][/IMG]

Fox News Wins Pulitzer for Fiction
Prize Committee Praises Imagination, Inventiveness

NEW YORK – In an unprecedented honor for the Rupert Murdoch-led network, the Fox News Channel today won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction.

In its official statement, the prize committee praised Fox for exhibiting “an imagination and inventiveness that rival the best of Charles Dickens and J.R.R. Tolkien.”

In hailing Fox, the committee singled out the network’s fourteen-part story about President Obama’s birth in a mud-hut in Kenya.

For Mr. Murdoch, the stunning Pulitzer Prize win was a rare bright spot in what he acknowledged had been “a difficult year.”

Fux Noise watchers live in a fantasy world concocted by Ailes and his team of propagandists. Listening to credible sources will only conflict with what "some people" are saying in the Fux Noise creative writing department. You're a joke Greta, and you always have been.

Faux News has controlled the narrative toward this silliness of feuding news organizations by a constant drum beat of "the liberal media, the liberal media, the liberal media." You hear Republican guests on Faux News eliciting the "liberal media" attack over and over again and again. The best way to punish Fox is to pull their license for misrepresentation....whatever Fox is selling, it ain't news.

The actions of Fox and the various radio entities I see as the main problem to be faced by our country. We try facing other problems such as voting, poverty, and wars. But ALL things are effected by these lying media personalities. Something like trying to remove weeds without paying any attention to the roots. This situation will worsen until a change is made regarding our common airwaves. I sure hope for a change soon.

Fox has been no fan of the President. As a matter of fact every show seems to belittle the President no matter what he says or accomplishes.

Greta is not in touch with the realty of the World and it was the Obama Administration that set in motion the events that finally killed Bin Laden.

Fox and their cronies even tried to distort the news on Election Day and predict a Romney win.

The President does not have the time or really cares what Fox News has to say and neither do I.

She seemed smart when she first got in the public eye but Faux News can apparently warp the minds of some, kind of like the Stockholm syndrome.

For her to whine that they'd get it right if this or that came to be is ridiculous, most of us have seen the leaked memos from the top there, which details where they want their hosts to steer the talk daily.

We've also seen the screen shots of people like David Vitter, when he had his scandal. On the byline below they put a (D) beside his name rather than the correct "R". It's a trick they use that can fool low info folks, which is a large part of their audience.

I'm at times not sure how Shep Smith keeps his job at Faux but for the most part this "news" op is deliberate propaganda pushing an alternate reality....which historically has often turned out horribly for the masses.
