False Equivalency

One of the most frustrating aspects of living in these times is this forced & artificial meme of equivalency; the idea that both Democrats and Republicans are equally to blame for the state of the country, and both parties say & do equally stupid things. I thought it might be a worthwhile exercise to compile a list here of all various blunders/crimes that have been committed by Conservatives, that have no analogue on the Progressive side. For example:

1. Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson saying Americans brought 9/11 on themselves by tolerating homosexuals (and being generally anti-christian, in their eyes).

I could probably list 25 more, but I have to cook dinner now and would like to hear what examples you guys think are most cogent. Thanks everyone.
