Do you wonder if a MAGA person realizes this 'civilian' could have been a sister, a daughter, a mother to them?? --would they think twice about following Trump??

It was a clear message to everyone what would happen if they crossed him.
They would be terrorized and possible killed.

He greatly enjoyed the show in his honor.
Imagine being so powerful people will kill for you.
And try to overthrow the US government.

Trump loves the idea of burning it all down to get what he wants.
He damages the country and our institutions out of spite.

It sucked what happened to the cops that day, for a few it was the end.

But all the people heading off to jail are, (or were in many cases), RW MAGA sympathizer's. I don’t think many of the Oath Keepers or Proud Boys are feeling a lot of love for The Donald anymore. Especially the ones going to prison for him.

Oh, and I love what this is doing to the Republican Party. Toss in the religious fanatics they climbed in bed with finally managing to catch the car they’ve been chasing for decades by ending Roe and ultimately they have only succeeded pissing off every female and most males in the country which, in the end, will only run them over and end them.

He got to be a star on a big stage and he found it suited him quite well. If you watch Trump video clips pre-Apprentice and post-Apprentice, you see a very different man. A relatively soft spoken man became very loud, boisterous, and cartoonish. Apparently on the show's set, he was an absolute tyrant, an indication of what kind of president he would be.

I understand that some people are more self-absorbed than others, but I've never seen anyone quite like Trump. The insecurity and defensiveness is alarming.

if he has other people commit the violence. Then he can claim he isn't responsible for the outcome, but meanwhile he thrives on the pain and violence. So essentially nothing bad is ever his fault and he takes credit for anything good, real or imagined.

He has an answer for everything, but if he didn't have money and power, his lame excuses wouldn't fly. He has gotten away with too much for too long and that has only fed his sociopathy.

He is so manipulative and such a good liar that even intelligent, educated people are
more than happy to go to prison for him. Amazing.

Giving money, fame and power to someone like Trump is like giving a heroin addict unlimited

I have seen some sociopaths get away with their crimes over and over.
They really can work the system and people fall for their games all the time.

He is too cocky and arrogant to change his tactics, so sure they will always be effective. Just because something worked 100s or even 1000s of times is no guarantee and that is the downfall of so many sociopaths. They don't seem to know how to shift gears when their methods start to falter. They stubbornly double-down which is what Trump is doing right now. He embellishes his existing lies while making up new and more outrageous ones.

Donald Trump is not a very smart man, but yes he is clever. He has good street smarts, but being rather dumb and limited, he's used the same old bag of tricks for decades. Eventually people DO catch on. People in New York figured him out a long time ago.

I can visualize all sorts of outcomes. My least favorite, however, is a massive stroke or heart attack. I want him fully conscious and aware of any repercussions he has to endure, especially if it includes financial devastation and the end of his "empire".

I can even accept (a bit reluctantly) no jail time as long as he suffers extreme public humiliation and defeat. I feel that is what would hurt him the most. I picture a man so physically and mentally destroyed that even his most loyal MAGA supporters will finally see him for who he is. A loser!

I don't like surprises.
And Trump certainly could have a few tricks up his sleeve.

Yes for a narcissist like Trump the worst thing is abject humiliation and to have all his lies exposed.
Being exposed as having no money and it was all a house of cards.
Of course he will try to blame everyone else.
Try to say he was robbed, etc.

But the public comments will be brutal and well deserved.
The ones about money and how he is stupid about money, and a terrible businessman will penetrate his
thin skin quite quickly. Yes that will get him like nothing else will.
Also just the thought of jail is said to make him afraid.
So let that hang over his head too.

Yes I do think it could destroy him.

Sadistic behavior is thought to be a smaller percentage of sociopathy.

Worded a little differently, but it's there:

Ashli Babbitt was shot at 2:44 p.m. Approximately 20 minutes later, a White House staffer wrote a note—later produced to the Select Committee—that read: “1x civilian gunshot wound to chest @ door of House cha[m]ber.” The note was delivered to President Trump, who continued to sit in his dining room, watching the violence on television and refusing to tell the mob to leave the Capitol.

The above was copied from my Kindle app, p. 97 in the book.

He has antisocial personality disorder. That means he has no conscience, no capacity for empathy, and no concern for anything except his own desires.

One reason people like him get away with so much crap is the fact that other people (those of us without disordered personalities like his) find it very hard to fathom that someone could really be that unconcerned with the welfare or feelings of others or that out of touch with the fact that some things are just plain wrong.

I'm pretty sure that's why some people keep making excuses for him when he says outrageous things. We've all heard them:

"Oh, he doesn't really mean that. "
"He doesn't mean that the way it sounds."
"That's just bluster/big talk!"
"You can't take him seriously."
"You have to take him with a grain of salt."

And on and on. The problem is, he does mean all those things, and he means them that way. We can't afford to lose sight of that, as hard as it may be to get our heads around it. Our resistance to believing anyone could really be that bad is exactly what makes him so dangerous.

He caught a lot of people off guard on January 6, 2021, because too many were still in denial about how evil he is. A lot of eyes were opened that day, but not in time to stop him. We can't let ourselves be caught flat-footed like that EVER again.
