Trump is presumed not guilty until convicted. Unless he's considered a flight risk, jail is not an appropriate action.

from those deemed dangerous to it, and given all the threats made to the public officials involved in the case (and their families), Trump fits the bill. This isn't just my opinion, it's Glenn Kirschner's as well.

His jailing at this point would be to prevent further incitement of his base to violence against innocent people.

Targeting some verbally targeted individual to highlight the need of pre-trial incarceration. We are in uncharted waters here and it appears the tone of the day is to threaten, threaten sanction...until someone gets hurt or killed.

I don't think rubber bullets V horse will do it.

Wish it weren't probably so.

IMO

Not verbatim, but he basically said that we already have the tools available to handle Trump (ie: incarceration before trial), but we don't have anyone willing to use those tools.

and let him know if he threatens anyone, he will be paying for their protection as the person being threatened sees necessary. He will be held liable if anything happens to them.

How about $50,000 for the first offence, $100,000 for the second offence etc.?

All he has to do, in classic mob boss style, is to complain about a person, or simply mention their name, and his cohorts will go after them.

Or even more classic, "Who will rid me of this meddlesome priest."

No overt threat on TFG's part, so nothing truly actionable by the law.

Even if Trump is jailed, he will have surrogates making the same threats he was making. What Trump is doing smells of Roger Stone who was one of 4 of Trump's inner circle holed up at the Willard Hotel. Garland appointed a task force to investigate the Willard Hotel but apparently it didn't find enough evidence to indict Stone, Epshteyn, Eastman or Rudy, or maybe Garland didn't find the will to indict them? Not holding anyone in Trump's inner circle accountable has only emboldened these people to continue on with the coup.

Trump is an evil genius. Trump knew that he could not prove his innocence in a trial with evidence so he uses threats, intimidation, and fear to taint the trial, that is if a trial ever happens. Trump has out-maneuvered Merrick Garland, Jack Smith, even Fani Willis to delay his trials past the election.

Hoping that Alvin Bragg can get Trump to a criminal trial but I still don't trust Bragg after he shut down the Pomerantz/Dunne prosecution that was all set to indict Trump for his New York criminal financial fraud.

As I posted years ago - Time Matters and pretty soon I can start posting that Time Mattered.

Jack Smith purposely did not indict other people in Trump's inner circle because he understood the importance of time in getting Trump to trial pre-election. He did name several people unindicted co-conspirators. I do not understand why Garland's DOJ did not prosecute anyone who was in Trump's inner circle, he does not have to wait for Jack Smith.

Justice delayed is justice denied. Trump and his loyalists are making a mockery of the justice system because none of them have been held accountable, they are emboldened.

31. Michael Cohen said it best on his pod cast
Sat Mar 30, 2024, 08:08 AM

Cohen said that because of Trump's threats against him he lives every day in fear. Cohen said that once Trump puts the word out on someone his life will change forever. Cohen gets threats every day. Cohen said that jailing Trump will not work because Trump will just have someone else make the threats, even people on Fox News will carry Trump's messages for him.

The milk is spilled, the barn door is still open folks, it's getting to be too late to hold Trump and his inner circle accountable and Merrick Garland was either afraid of Trump or he is complicit with Trump.

Google who was indicted at Watergate and maybe then people will understand why Trump gets away with shit. A shit load of people in the Nixon administration went to jail, including lawyers, no one in Trump's administration has been held accountable.
