"I pledge allegiance to Grover Norquist..."

Anti-tax crusader Grover Norquist faces erosion of power

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/11/26/anti-tax-crusader-grover-norquists-pledge-becoming-irrelevant/

snip

He founded Americans for Tax Reform in 1985, and the group’s website says that in the current legislature there are 238 House members and 41 senators who have taken the pledge, as well as 13 governors and 1,244 state legislators.

snip

One cannot be held to “a pledge you signed 20 years ago, 18 years ago,” the New York lawmaker said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” program.

end snip

My point is, why did this pledge hold for 20 years, and why are any lawmakers making a pledge outside the one they make to the country??? I am glad it is breaking, and Grover can go slink away...but why did this happen in the first place???

IF they owe their allegiance to Grover, then can't we bust them for failing in their primary duties DUE to this ongoing conflict of interest?

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."

There should be no other "pledge or oath" than this one, and anyone that takes the pledge to Grover over this oath should be removed from office!

94 remember the Gingrich Revelution... the contract on America, that document with a little bit of everything for the conservative base, has come to haunt the GOP...in election after election it has hamstrung the candidates.. blind obedience to the polices, have paralyzed the party..

the Days of Newt, Grover, are rapidly passing as the polices have proven ineffective.. of greater consequence however may be rise of a new demographic.. women, people of color, and young people hold the key and the GOP has done little to earn their trust..
