We are practically neighbors!
It was an incredible experience.
It was the perfect day for it.

Looking at with my naked eye with no magnification we were wondering what that red dot was on the edge. I guess we were seeing solar flare activity.

Remember, Smelvis said he'd send a manned spacecraft to the sun, but land at night so no one would get hurt.

Due to very heavy clouds, we didn't see much, but we did see the corona for about 1 second. (3 min 35 sec totality) It was sooo worth it!

We stayed home (in Cap District] but friends went up to their camp in Saranac Lake and she sent us her pictures. Beautiful, too, but she took hers with her phone so not as spectacular as your picture.

Which worked great. But at the totality, I had to take the filter off to see. This is with a straight zoom.

the corona and ejections make it really special.

Watched the whole thing in the comfort of our backyard since we're in the direct path. It was hit or miss for me given i had to wear the eclipse glasses yet hold up my fone which i could not see to shoot the pix but i got good ones too, surprisingly. It was cloudy where we were & the clouds actually made it look kinda spooky & very cool at the same time. I couldn't grasp how dark it got.

I didn't get any pics this time, apart from a few very poor quality snaps on my cell phone. I did get a really good look through a good pair of binoculars. Could clearly see the solar flares.
