(Just for clarification's sake, Clay Travis is not an attorney representing Donald Trump in any of his civil or criminal cases. At least not yet. He is, however, a lawyer who is also a staunch supporter of Donald Trump.)

(43,191 posts)...he's almost certainly been reported to the Tennessee Bar at this point. Meaning his law license could be suspended or even terminated.
That's apart from any type of criminal action for felony jury tampering.

(43,191 posts)I mean, unless federal agents are on their way as we speak to arrest him, and unless the Tennessee Bar has a representative currently on the way to rip up his law license, that means nothing is going to happen to this guy?
You know things don't happen instantaneously, right?
republianmushroom
(13,670 posts)Which I would bet will happen this time, nothing.

For those that don't know... this Travis guy is one of the duo that took over for Rush Limbaugh on his stations on the radio
Wonder Why
(3,234 posts)considered a crime. He is telling people to do that.
When Donnie tweets, he attacks the person and gives out their address but doesn't tell followers to violate the law but just hints at it. This attorney is telling to them how to vote before the evidence is even presented so he is telling them to violate their sworn duty.
PatSeg
(47,573 posts)than his attorney, that is incredible.
Where did this fool get his law degree? Trump University?
SergeStorms
(19,204 posts)Per his website.
This guy is some local right-wing radio show hack as well. Another in the long line of rabble-rousing AM radio wingnuts, getting the Tennessee uneducated riled-up and howling for blood.
There's at least one in every medium-sized city in the country.

(19,204 posts)Most of them are fairly well-educated, too. That makes it easier to control the uneducated masses. The rubes know these people are educated, so they must know what they're talking about!
It makes it easier to grift the rubes, too, which is why almost all of them sell some sort of snake-oil to make extra money.
I think they offered a course in "grifting the rubes, 101," at Trump University.
PatSeg
(47,573 posts)Though of course such people have always been with us - the grifters and the gullible. If the grifters were held accountable and the gullible were better educated, the world would be a better place.
I think Trump came along and opened the gates of hell and let all the dormant con artists out at one time, while stirring up the ignorant masses simultaneously. A perfect storm it would seem.
SergeStorms
(19,204 posts)but certainly not for us.

(19,204 posts)People like him are never satisfied. There's never enough for him.
If there's one thing I could wish for everyone in the world, it's being satisfied and thankful for what they have, and to not feel the need to always want more, and know it.
When I finally got off the hamster wheel and realized that about my own existence, it was the happiest day of my life.
Peace to you, PatSeg.
PatSeg
(47,573 posts)in his administration where he DID realize his new gig was very restrictive and the White House "was a dump" compared to what he was accustomed to.
Trump was used to doing whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted and all of sudden there were restrictions and rules, not to mention all those boring people coming into the Oval Office explaining tedious stuff he didn't understand or care about.
But of course his massive ego won out and in spite of all the restrictions, "it is good to be King" even if Putin was controlling the strings. A wiser man would have been content with less, but clearly that has never applied to Trump.
Yes, the older I get, I find that often less is more.

(2,211 posts)if he is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. This attorney is asking and encouraging sworn jurors to break their oaths and possibly the law. He is an officer of the court who is encouraging lawlessness.
He needs to be gone from the case immediately. This amounts to a form of contempt of court.

(36,132 posts)Where's the crime again? Where's the jurisdiction on a social media platform?
If it's in TN, will TN be able to get Xtwitter to verify that it was he who sent the tweet so they can prosecute him? Or the DOJ?

(42,748 posts)Section 10(16):. "Juror" means any person who is a member of any jury, including a grand jury, impaneled by any court in this state or by any public servant authorized by law to impanel a jury. The term juror also includes a person who has been drawn or summoned to attend as a
prospective juror.
Jury tampering is broadly defined in Section 215.25 as follows: "A person is guilty of tampering with a juror in the first degree when, with intent to influence the outcome of an action or proceeding, he communicates with a juror in such action or proceeding, except as authorized by law.
Tampering with a juror in the first degree is a class A misdemeanor."
That still leaves the question of whether someone can tamper with New York jurors by communicating with them by means other than a communication that originates in the state of New York.
CanonRay
(14,112 posts)and we already have jury tampering.

(42,748 posts)The sentence for a Class A misdemeanor in New York can include up to one year in jail, a fine of up to $1,000, probation for two or three years, and/or a conditional discharge. Most first time offenders get probation or a fine.

(3,538 posts)by admitting they probably couldnt be impartial. Then the bobble-heads explained to us how now we could be assured of a fair trial. Whats happened to common sense and logic? Obviously its good that some people are honest enough to admit they cant be impartial; unfortunately I believe the number of honest people with integrity is going to skew towards Democratic supporters and those who keep up with news and have an open mind.
However, the hard core Magatts will have no problem lying in a court of law about their belief that tRump should be acquitted of all charges, screw the evidence. The fact that such an obvious loophole in this self-recusing behaviour is beyond the grasp of a CNN news anchor doesnt come as a surprise, but its still amusing. How dumb do you have to be to get that job? I hope this Clay Travis story gets some coverage, and I hope the prosecuting attorneys dig a little deeper then asking for a show of hands.

(634 posts)... what motivates seemingly intelligent people to voice ANY support for such a vile insult to the color orange as Donald Trump. I've been watching his clown show for more than 40 years. There are more than 4,000 lawsuits pending against this despicable turd of a man who is directly responsible for driving some of his victims to suicide. And this evil sonofabitch has NEVER been held to account for any of his crimes.
The room-temperature IQs that defile the Flag by wearing it as a jockstrap while attending his Nuremberg rallies are irredeemable idiots who deserve whatever happens to them as a result of their devotion to this scumbag. They are immune to reason, facts, or logic, and spew infantile rationalizations for shameless behavior no one can ignore, like the most asinine bullshit excuse of all time, "Oh, that's just Trump being Trump!"
But swine like Governor Chris Sununu of New Hampshire, who knows full well what a malicious sociopath Trump is, STILL pledges his support for him, no matter what crimes he commits. Der Party before country, ain't that right, Chris. People like him have no business holding any office of power and responsibility. There have to be SOME standards of common human decency that govern the behavior of elected officials. Currently, there are none, and the nation is poorer for it.

(3,243 posts)There is a duo of asshats called Clay Travis and Buck Sexton that do what was once the Limbaugh show. These two have a huge platform from which to do their jury tampering and Magat conditioning.
