According to this report, more than 50 potential jurors (Original Post) BootinUp Apr 15 OP
This is what I suspected. They are going to have a very hard time getting 12 impartial jurors. honest.abe Apr 15 #1

...most folks have jobs, kids, things lake that so it's mostly bored retired people that don't mind serving and they tend to be more conservative.
I hope they have good ways of detecting and accounting for this.

Those Jan 6th insurrectionists didn't seem to get any breaks as far as verdicts go so maybe they do, idk.

We weren't supposed to talk to one another about the trial until then. The reason I missed them is because, unbeknownst to me, I was actually an alternate. Which is a pretty slick way to make sure you pay attention.

I was kinda pissed at first but the judge gave me a nice certificate and one of the jurors called me afterward to tell me what happened.

That's great you turned that woman around! She must have had a few undamaged brain cells still. Lemme ask you, did you have hidden alternates at your trial do you know?

They'd be pro-trump. The opposite, actually. New Yorkers know him and hate him. They're quite capable of being extremely critical of their politicians. They teach those people of color Trump scapegosts.

People have scheduled vacations, wedding dates, etc. that may prevent them from attending a trial that is expected to go for 2 months.

it is more likely its just people just hitting the emergency release. A four to six week trial can be a pita to a lot of people. Moreso one where you will face personal security risks; you could have family members who are very passionate who will lobby you and even threaten you over your vote.

Some people just don't want the bother, even if they could personally be impartial.

It's new york city after all.

Not opinions.

That is on the law. Unless the law is from the dark ages like Arizona's abortion law.
