Chemtrails aren't a thing. This is in response to conspiracy theories.
Although I left Tennessee in 1979, I am still embarrassed.

(66,436 posts)Wasting legislative time and taxpayer money to ban something that doesn't exist would seem to fall under both categories.
I want to live on a smarter planet...
On edit: How do you enforce this? Physics dictates that when a plane flies over Tennessee (or anywhere else, really) at an altitude high enough to freeze the exhaust, condensation trails will result. Do you scramble police department interceptor jets to pursue the criminals? Do they now have to invest in police interceptor jets? Can they?
Yeah, I don't think they thought this one through...

"Posts about mass shootings being "false flag" operations, 9/11 being a controlled demolition, no airplane at the Pentagon, chemtrails, black helicopters, the Illuminati, or other nonsense make us all look like fools. This website may have the word "underground" in our name, but we are not extreme fringe."

my husband worked with years ago at the P.O. said there were black helicopters that secretly landed at night at of all places the Truman Presidential library in Independence, MO. I think my husband either ignored him or laughed at him.

(8,751 posts)"Leaded gas was phased out 25 years ago. Why are these planes still using toxic fuel?"
Piston-engine aircraft remain the single largest source of highly toxic airborne lead.
further down in article:
Thats because Reid-Hillview is one of 13,000 so-called general aviation airports, from which leaded-fuel piston-engine aircraft fly. While leaded gasoline was fully phased out in 1996 with the passage of the Clean Air Act, it still fuels a fleet of 170,000 piston-engine airplanes and helicopters. Leaded aviation fuel, or avgas, now makes up the largest remaining aggregate source of lead emissions to air in the U.S., according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
The presence of this fuel means the areas near these airports are often inundated with tiny lead particles, according to a 2020 report from the EPA. Lead has been proven to have a detrimental impact on childrens brains and nervous systems.

(So people who live near airports are getting lead exposure from small planes - according to this article (especially bad for children) -So - are the crop dusters also leaving lead on the crops? Good reason to eat organic!!

(526 posts)If they're really serious about enforcing this (which I doubt), the only way they'll be able to stop them is for every airline to stop doing business in Tennessee, and for flights from other places to divert around the borders of the state. There is no way that's going to happen.

(13,539 posts)thing. Do they even understand what chemtrails are? Guess its back to horse and buggy for citizens of Tennessee. You might even say car exhaust is a chemtrail. Hopefully this is a joke.

(495 posts)Flights coming in to Atlanta, Charlotte, etc, do they have fly around TN? A flight from Cincinnati to Atlanta would become a major pain.

(10,836 posts)Though not a native, I lived in Tennessee for 20+ years during which time I witnessed the state grow ever more radical and deranged. Now, they're passing laws based on conspiracy theory. Here, I thought, the first law I read about back in the late 90's was stunning--legalizing human consumption of roadkill.
But this?
Nothing is a step too far, too nuts.
