I don't see how someone who gets all their News from Trump on Truth Social and Twitter is anything but a cultists who who will never vote to convict their dear leader.
I don't see why the prosecution would allow such a juror? The odds of them hanging the jury is very high. Too high.

(3,030 posts)Being facetious, I think.
It is an interesting jury. Considering how many are professionals and appear widely read, a few are going to read and browse when off duty, despite judges directions.

(8,854 posts)IMHO a rational way to look at MSM is ownership.
Hard to have confidence given the level of gaslighting most Americans (and humans) experience.
Credentials don't mean as much as in the past; probably a goal of some social engineers.
So much goes or could go wrong.
I am tired.

(6,379 posts)These people are under enough pressure without folks putting THEM on trial.
I find this sort of dissecting of them and publishing what they do disgusting.
I wonder if it comes close to jury tampering?

(183,008 posts)I check it for the arcing news stories that might not be on DU. I check Fox from time to time (as the WH press office obviously does). Google News is a pretty bland news source.

(261 posts)With the make up of the jury (white collar New Yorkers) and a judge who's, so far, made it clear he's no Trump fan, I don't see anyway Trump isnt convicted. I've not seen even one pundit that thinks Trump walks.
This is THE case that's finally going to take him down. The other NY case was just the appetizer!
As for Juror #2, I dont believe a person gets their news solely from TS, especially an investment banker. I suspect he wanted to be on the jury (as probably most do), and he figured it would be a nice touch to say he uses TS.
Worry not!

From that, I would say he's very analytical and left-brained. I'd guess he's not the life of the party...if he even goes to parties!

(6,292 posts)T has bamboozled many of us who work with our hands and fill the ranks of the working world. Somehow he appeals to them in a way I have yet to grasp.
Looking at this on The NY Times I was shocked that he was let on.
But, hopefully the prosecutors saw something in him that led them to believe that he would listen to the facts.
But my initial reaction was not good.

(1,887 posts)Or a jury would never get seated. Im sure the defense could argue that a juror cant be impartial because they get news from MSNBC, but thats not how the real world works. This isnt a Grisham novel.

I have been on two and I can tell you there is a lot of pressure if there is 1 or 2 against the others to change your mind.
One of the juries I was on this conservative lady wanted to find the guy guilty with zero evidence just because someone cried on the stand. You have to look at the facts of the case and vote on that. We got her to change her mind. Poor guy didn't do anything wrong and because he was poor, mexican living in a conservative area he had no money for bail and was in jail for many months and lost custody of his daughter that he got because his ex was on drugs.
Thankfully we set him free. Oh and he lost his job too. Our system is pretty tough on poor minorities who get into trouble.
The other case I was on the guy was guilty and we eventually all agreed on it. Doesn't usually happen first vote.

(183,008 posts)Both were personal injury cases against trucking firms from what I could gather. I was not in the courtroom very long.
The first one I was dismissed and saw a gentleman get on the jury who Id seen at my place of work. He had mental issues. Hey he was on his meds so everything was okay.
The second one I had a view of the check off list by the plaintiffs side. I was the first immediate X.
Not really comparable to your experience but I always thought it was telling.

Its a strange world of topics that youd never hear on any actual news source BUT its very influential and its on in NYC.
Most AM stations have a FM channel after the FCC opened up frequencies a few years ago.
