News of Mass Graves Isn't Much News to US Outlets

Fairness & Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR)
April 26, 2024

The bodies of over 300 people were discovered in a mass grave at the Nasser medical complex in Khan Younis, a Gaza city besieged by Israeli forces.

The discovery of these Palestinian bodies, many of which were reportedly bound and stripped, is more evidence of "plausible" genocide committed by Israel during it's bombardment of Gaza.

Over 34,000 Palestinians have died thus far, with more than two-thirds of the causalities being women and children.
(Al Jazeera, 4/21/24)

Yet this discovery prompted few US news headlines, despite outlets like the Guardian (4/23/24), Haaretz (4/23/24) and Reuters (4/23/24) covering the story.
Instead, headlines relating to Palestine have predominately focused on protests happening at university campuses across the country -- an important story, but not one that ought to drown out coverage of the atrocities students are protesting against.

Said that the IDF dug up bodies from makeshift sites around the hospital in order to DNA test them to try to find any hostages, and afterwards reburied them in this mass grave.

Misinformation is circulating regarding a mass grave that was discovered at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis. The grave in question was dug — by Gazans — a few months ago,” Israeli army spokesman Major Nadav Shoshani wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “This fact is corroborated by social media documentation uploaded by Gazans at the time of the burial, as seen in the video below.”

“Any attempt to blame Israel for burying civilians in mass graves is categorically false and a mere example of a disinformation campaign aimed at delegitimizing Israel,” Shoshani added.

As they have requested. Germany, France tbe EU and others have called for an immediate investigation, backing the UN.

Al Nasser is not alone. There are other mass graves. At Al Shifa:

In April 2024, health workers in Gaza exhumed the first bodies from mass graves at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, where at least 381 bodies were found after the withdrawal of Israeli forces, following their two-week siege. Many bodies showed signs of severe trauma, including being crushed or disfigured, partially as a result of being run over by Israeli tanks.[32] The graves included both buried and above-ground remains, some under dirt or plastic sheeting. [33][34]

There are horrific images and descriptions online. The use of zip ties, bullets to the head, corpses in hospital scrubs, women and kids among the dead.

There is too much here to be ignored or swept under the rug. If you believe these charges are false, you should want an investigation. People are not going to accept denials from the IDF when they see evidence with their own eyes. If that evidence is false, let it be proven.

What was cause of death?

IDF?

Hamas?

Natural causes, because good was prevented tech? Natural causes regardless of good tech?

I'm expected to fall into line with one version of the truth. Never have, never well. I know I lack facts about what happened. And have no faith to fill in the lacunae.

Evidence I've seen says the graves were dug after a raid on Ash-shifa but before the main attack. Takes gonads to approach the evidence presented; it might be wrong, but I haven't seen anybody get near it.

Igel out.

...in the rest of the world, doesn't make news here. Corporate media shapes and slants the info we get. Most here probably don't even know that both Macron and Tony Blair warned about Ukraine and if pushed too far, Russia may react. In the case of Israel, a number of outside leaders warned what Bibi was doing could come back and bite him in the ass. Lots of hubris in our narratives....and to be honest, why do we need narratives?
