DU's main purpose anymore is as a doorway to you tube...I don't trash them but don't bother loading them at all. I like to read articles not listen to them.

It may have been a mistake by the poster. I've accidentally posted videos in GD but I usually remove them once I realize the mistake.

I didn't have those settings turned on. I found them and turned them on.

It definitely helps when scrolling. I don't mind either type, I just want a bit of a rundown of the video or thread to see if I want to go further and click on them. Sometimes the poster will do that and some posters don't.
