Democratic congressional candidate Ashley Ehasz said on Thursday that she is ready for her second turn taking on four-term incumbent GOP U.S. Rep Brian Fitzpatrick (R-1st District) this November.
At the Neshaminy Federation of Teachers (NFT) union office in Middletown Township on Thursday, Ehasz received the endorsement of the American Federation of Teachers Pennsylvania (AFT-PA), which represents more than 36,000 members in the Keystone State. It was her campaigns first labor union endorsement of the election cycle.
The Ehasz campaign added the education unions endorsement to a number of others, including from EMILYs List, NewDems Action Fund, and VoteVets.
Ehasz, a U.S. Army veteran and public school graduate, thanked the teachers union for their support and said she believes in greater oversight of the charter school system to real solutions for affordable higher education.

2 years ago there were huge signs bragging that PSEA Endorses Fitzpatrick. Why would they endorse a candidate from the party that hates public schools and unions?? This is a good sign.

(94,879 posts)Its an evenly balanced district that Biden won by 1.6%, but Fitzpatrick won (in 2020) by 13.2%, so a lot of voters willing to split tickets. IN 2022, he won by 9.8%. The rating outfits all have this as LIKELY R.
PA-10 (Jenelle Byrum vs Scott Perry) is seen as more winnable.

(20,782 posts)He rides the line between D and R issues on his votes, and so, he's hard to dismiss. She may narrow the win, but it would be unlikely. Still, we need to win every seat we can. Luckily, Josh Shapiro is on watch to prevent any election muckery in PA this time.
