I'll get flamed for feeling that way and rooting for Texas, but I don't care. People born into that cult, especially females, have no clue they even have rights as citizens, they are owned. Texas seems to be a state that has the guts to try to do something about it!

Seriously, it depends on the grounds for seizure.

Can they make a RICO case? Have they, like many members of their cult, defrauded the government by getting welfare and other payments for women and children? They have an expression, "bleed the beast." Could they seize the property to get back some of the stolen funds?

I am not against this. These are nasty, nasty people who abuse and brainwash their young and their females.

That's their whole grifter existence.

Call something a religion and it not only can deny people their rights, but it can proceed to suck the taxpayers dry.

This is just another LDS Cult that sucks every one dry.

This is just as bad as seizing somebody's house because the cops found an ounce of kind bud in it. Furthermore, where do we stop on this slippery slope? At first, seizing property was designed only for drug dealers, then it included drug users, now it is going outside of drugs and into crimes such as child molestation. On and on it will go, until your house can be seized for simple assault, or worse, a speeding ticket.

The state should not profit from the prosecution of crime. It makes the state all the more eager to prosecute crime, including crimes that aren't really there.

As a Texan, I suspect there's some sort of ulterior motive.

shut the damn cult down. Using 7 year old boys on construction jobs, forcing young girls to marry old men and the list goes on. There was a television special the other night about Jeffs still running the cult from prison. He handed down the order recently according to the tv special that husbands and wives can't touch each other.

The states of Arizona and Utah have turned a blind eye to this shit for years. The kids are uneducated, the wives and children nothing but slaves. Their freedom of religion does NOT entitle them to enslave people.

Not to mention how many of them get welfare.
