Should Glenn Beck be FIRED?

Michael Moore✔
@MMFlint 28 Nov 12

Yesterday, Glen Beck took a flag-draped Obama doll and put it in a jar of what he called urine. (no I won't provide the link)

Mary94523@mary94523

@MMFlint he should be fired. Respect the President, no matter what.

Although, it would be nice to see all his syndicators dump him.

That aside, a jar of urine? Is he trying to create his own version of "Piss Christ"?

Perhaps the better question is fire him from where? He is now down to working for himself, since Faux did fire him last year sometime.

But no, I wouldn't fire him, I wouldn't fire anybody exercising their right to free speech.

If he's working for someone, the First Amendment doesn't apply to speech related to his work. It doesn't apply on DU, either.

And MadHound said he would not fire someone for doing that (implying that he legally could).

As MM pointed out, the first amendment protects you from prosecution. If I were to approach one of my co-eds and say, "My, you are gorgeous. Please come into my office and have sex with me", I would be fired in the time it took to get security to my office. OTOH as long as she is of age I can't be prosecuted for my lechery. Hank Williams II got fired from MNF for telling the president, "You're not one of us - get the hell out of the country". He cannot be prosecuted for that. And so on.

It's free speech, but as Keith always pointed out, that doesn't always apply to the private sector.

AND it just makes people realize that people on the right are crazy. That's simplified, but it's the same as lumping all those to the left as communiss. No nuance for many people.

recently i happened on one of his rallies televised on the supposed christian tv station the comes with the cable package

full house

some fricken stadium

added a couple singers and he looked like a billy graham

He eliminated a bunch of middle men and now controls his own little network
heard he is making more money not less

i found it hard to believe--but that filled stadium gave me pause.

and this little stunt he just pulled will make him even richer
