EEEEW...just got an email from Scott Brown

OOOOOH Yuck! I didn't know Scottie would see the petition I signed in support of Shaheen's Amendment. First I have heard that he supports it!
Wow he is such a stand up guy for Women (NOT)!
Who knew!

Oh and see below he invited me to attend his monthly constituent coffee!

What a guy!

Psst...Scottie I voted for ELIZABETH WARREN!

Dear Ms.

Thank you for contacting me regarding the amendment filed by Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) (S. 2467). As always, I value your input and would like to take this opportunity to respond.

Senator Shaheen’s amendment would lift the statutory ban prohibiting health insurance coverage for U.S. service women and their dependents for abortion services in cases of rape and incest on military bases. As a supporter of abortion rights, I agree that the exceptions for victims of rape and incest traditionally provided under the long-standing Hyde Amendment should extend to military service women.

As a cosponsor of this amendment, I was pleased that the Senate Armed Services Committee passed this amendment during its markup of this year's NDAA, by a bipartisan vote of 16 to 10. More recently, on June 13, 2012, I sent a letter to the House Leadership pressing them to include the Shaheen Amendment as part of any final NDAA legislation. As the legislative process moves forward, I will certainly keep your thoughts in mind and work with my colleagues to support this amendment.

Again, thank you for taking the time to share your views with me. If you have any additional questions or comments, please feel free to contact me or visit my website at www.scottbrown.senate.gov.

Sincerely,
Scott P. Brown
United States Senator
