Do we (the USA) OWN the disintegration of Syria?

I was listening to John "Bomb Iran" McCain beating the War Drums this afternoon
pushing for intervention in Syria, blaming Obama for his Non-Intervention in Syria,
and I wanted to scream in his face that what we are NOW seeing is a direct result of our "intervention" in Iraq.

Saddam DID provide something that passed for stability in that region.
Iraq was a secular, advanced, educated, capitalist (of a sort) nation that provided freedom from Sharia Law for women,
where Christians, Shiites, and Sunnis lived together and had the freedom to practice their religion as they chose.
Under Saddam, things were certainly better when compared to the horrors we have now where Syria is about to explode.

Have our military occupations radicalized the entire region?
If I lived next door to a nation that a foreign SuperPower had bombed and murdered into submission, I would probably be pretty militant.

Maybe we should deal with our problems at home instead of forcing our Uniquely American Solutions on other nations,
or do we now OWN the disintegration in the Middle East?

How far are you willing to go if WMDs are used on civilians in Syria?

What can we hope to achieve with our military?

Looking back over 60 years of "military interventions" in that region,
we always seem to make things much worse.
