Need help holding FEMA to their word re: employee health benefits!!!

Sorry, I don't have time right now to compose a proper OP, with the many links involved, so I'm posting to a blog post I just created instead. I created a petition right after Hurricane Sandy, asking for FEMA first responders (Reservists) to have health benefit coverage (similar to the federal firefighters' petition which was successful back in June).

It seemed to fly through with amazing ease but, bottom line, they still haven't DONE it. Change.org and I have followed every step of the way -- staying in contact with both OPM and FEMA -- and it seems the ball is in FEMA's court.

I've tried and tried to get information from FEMA (many different departments), to no avail.

If you could share this anywhere you can think of (maybe email or post on social media sites for Sen. Sanders or Alan Grayson...and anywhere there's any chance of the Obama Administration and media peeps seeing it? I've followed up with the reporters who did the original Washington Post piece, as well as Think Progress.

The thing is, there is a deadline for enrollment on Monday. Hopefully it isn't set in stone as it pertains to this issue, but it's sure a reason I want to raise hell NOW, especially since it's apparent FEMA is now intentionally ignoring me. (I'm not surprised, of course)

Ughhhh....don't have much time though and must be away from computer for a while.
