Did the Walker-Kavanaugh operation involve money-laundering a bribe?

Kevin Kavanaugh, a Walker crony, was just sentenced to 2 years for embezzlement.

Here's the original complaint, which contains the following flowchart delineating the details of the embezzlement:

But who is Mark Gundrum, and why would he have donated so much money to Kavanaugh's scam?

Well, here's a clue--

Nov. 9. 2011– Governor Scott Walker has appointed Waukesha County Judge Mark Gundrum to serve on the District 2 Court of Appeals.

Judge Gundrum, who graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1994, has served in the U.S. Army Reserve since 2000, including a 2008 deployment to Iraq where he worked with Iraqi judges on developing the Rule of Law there. Before being elected to the bench, Judge Gundrum served in the Wisconsin Assembly District and as the municipal prosecutor for the Village of Mukwonago.

The darkest interpretation is that Gundrum made a "charitable contribution" that was laundered through the Vets fund only to later end up in Kavanaugh's pocket, and Walker appointed Gundrum to the Court of Appeals as a "return on investment."

Now, what would complete the story would be for Kavanaugh's case to end up before the Court of Appeals, on which Gundrum sits.

To quote Lilly Tomlin, "No matter how cynical you get, you can't keep up."
