When they (media) have stories of WA and CO legalizing recreational pot use, they

show footage of stereotypical potheads firing up, IMO reinforcing that those who imbibe are part of a stoned subculture.

I don't even smoke pot, and it just pisses me off!

freer pot laws is to prevent minor offenders and kids from having their lives or legal records ruined. Our government has run an insane war on weed that has resulted in many ruined lives that should not have been ruined. I am embarrassed that our President, who I respect, may be on the side of continuing this insanity.

Pot can be regulated just like alcohol is and people that smoke weed subject to the same laws, such as DUI laws and public use laws.

I really hope that the acceptance in these two States -- and there are more that are gearing up -- will serve to sow the seeds of change Federally.

Although there are pitfalls ahead for us, I hope these experiments go well and it wil soon become the law of the land.

One story told how the Seattle Police Department was told to just issue verbal warnings if they saw somebody smoking pot outdoors (which is against the law -- like booze). SPD is probably relieved they don't have to mess with this any more.

To understand a law that makes it legal to possess and use a drug but you cannot grow your own, and anyone who sells it to you is committing a felony????
