As disgusting and callous as the repukes are, I gotta take my hat off to them!

They really know how to get things done.

While we are flabbergasted that they would dare as for a permanent extension of tax cuts for the wealthy, repuke governors and legislatures are killing unions in Michigan and Wisconsin and Ohio.

While we complain about long voting lines in urban areas, repukes are "fixing" their states so that only repuke candidates can win there.

While Democratic candidates are afraid to even bring up the subject of gun control, repukes boast about rolling back abortion and birth control rights.

Repukes even openly state that it is not in their best interests for poor people and black people and brown people to vote in elections.

Sometimes, I know that we're playing checkers and the repukes are playing chess.........and I am embarrased for me and my party! How long can the overly polite and politically correct progressives in this country survive in this republican no-holds-barred, take no prisoners environment.

p.s. The 2 people under the age of 30 (they are 28 and 25) that I care about most both believe that it is time for this country to have a dialog about GUN CONTROL. I hope the Democratic party is listening because I think these young people ARE the future of the progressive movement!

Mike Bloomberg has created a fund to back any and all who speak out against guns, against the NRA and he is willing to fund any candidate(prefably democrats) who do just that.

2012 was a test, a very successful one, think it was 7 out 10, including getting a long time California congressman who is pro-NRA out, and putting an anti-NRA one in.

He is willing to spend anything and everything to do just that.

He says one too many funerals he has attended to not do something.

So finally the NRA has met their match, and the tired million dollar suit soundbytes from the NRA are being met with million dollar answers.

the times are coming for major change in this regard.

The glorification of the gun hopefully will one day be like cigarettes.

Personally I think guns should remain in private homes. But all legal guns off the street.

It's the legal guns on the street that make the illegal guns impossible to get rid of.

And its so often the legal guns used in mega shootings.

(let alone the atrocity that Zimmerman in Florida did. Cold blooded murder if you ask me.)

"Shock Doctrine" is an option for them. We know they are willing to bring down the economy and hold the government and political processes hostage when they want their way.

Their lack of ethics or shame and willingness to act like government thugs, and to appeal to the lowest instincts in people is breathtaking. The end justifies the means for them at a level like never before.

Our leadership needs to coordinate talking points and stop letting these a$$holes frame the issues and the dialogue. If it means hiring somebody to come in and work with them, then they should go for it. I do agree that we need to play hardball, especially in negotiations. If we back down from being tough now, we may never get the chance again. We're on the right side of history and it takes bold courage to keep it that way.
