Because as long as the Republicans hold the chair of the Judiciary Committee, there will be no impeachment of any conservative. There may very well be an attempt to impeach Obama, however.

Not sure, but because Justices are appointed and not elected it may only take a simple majority of Senators to convict, rather than the two thirds required for elected officials.

Supreme Court Justices are almost god-like in that the recusal rules do not apply to them because there is no Court above them. Scalia can still be impeached for all of his conduct as a whole, but I do not think that in the eyes of 2/3 of the Senate he has done anything bad enough to be impeached. To be clear, as an attorney, I believe that his conduct has been reprehensible and an embarrassment to our profession. I believe that he has done more than anyone else on the Court in demonstrating partisanship and favoritism. His speaking to the Kochs for money, his ex-parte conduct on several cases, and his public comments, would each, individually, have caused him to have to step down if he was anything other than a sitting U.S. Supreme Court Justice! The rules do not apply to him, literally!

Unfortunately, the general public does not follow SCOTUS closely. We should have marched after Citizens United. The next time they screw us again we must try to take advantage. Each party claims to be against "Activist Judges" except when it is their Judge or Justice. If you have ever watched the movie, "...And Justice for All" with Al Pacino, that is how I feel about our system of Justice. Scalia is an insane elitist.

Until there is political will to impeach Scalia, Scalia will not be impeached.

Conviction in the Senate is an even higher standard.

As much as I despise Scalia, he will retire or die before articles of impeachment are ever introduced in the House, even if the Democrats retake the House in 2014 and Scalia is still on the SCOTUS.

And he's even worse than Scalia. These people are criminals, and there are no rules governing their behavior on the bench, as there are for lesser judges. I think Congress ought to (but won't) pass legislation to apply the rules that govern other judges to the Supreme Court justices.

That is why he NEVER ASKS QUESTIONS of the attorneys arguing before him. Justices should be inquisitive and push the attorneys arguments, test them. Thomas just sits there and waits to talk to Scalia afterward to hear what he is supposed to do. Both should be impeached together!

Which doesn't have a ghost of a chance until 2014 and only if those who sat down in 2010 and turned the nation over to the baggers (see Texas, Michigan, Wisconsin, etc.) get up and vote, it won't happen then. It would be the right thing to do but baggers won't do the right thing. They want fascism and Scalia is their wing man.
