Litvinenko death: British evidence points to Russia's involvement

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20715187

Alexander Litvinenko was poisoned in November 2006 after meeting Russian contacts

The Russian state was involved in the murder of former spy Alexander Litvinenko, documents released by the British government have suggested.

The evidence emerged during a legal review on Thursday, ahead of a formal inquest into his death.

Mr Litvinenko died in November 2006 after ingesting polonium-210, allegedly during a meeting with ex-KGB contacts Andrei Lugovoy and Dmitry Kovtun.

Moscow has previously denied any involvement in the 43-year-old's death.
