They invited an expert (retired Nassau County, NY Police Officer Lou Polombo) to give analysis of "What happens now?"
In his response, he adds that "people are able to obtain firearms when they are not in a right state of mind". And even though he supports the Second Amendment, we need to start to look at having some sort of vetting process similar to what is done for law enforcement - which includes psychological screening.
He tries to expand on his point, but the CNN host cut him off in mid-sentence to go back to local news, as if there was new news coming out. There was not.

(4,276 posts)When is enough going to be enough? What is the magic number of people killed before we do something to protect the general population? The guy had 4 guns...4 guns, really? Semi-automatic guns...really? How many guns does someone need and how many rounds of ammunition? Oh, I know....numerous multi-round guns so that one can kill numerous innocent people because America loves its guns more than it loves life. And now these poor children.
