What I'm about to say is going to generate a lot of flaming but...

In the words of Rahm Emanuel,

"You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before."

Make the ammo so expensive that almost know one can afford it.

It might make it much harder to acquire. Or not. I don't know. It might be as easy to acquire as pot, which is also banned.

That said, it's an idea worth looking at.

Have they actually discussing changes, or just going with their 'if it bleeds, it leads' method?

Let me provide a list of the media outlets I trust 100% of the time.

None.

Each outlet needs to be examined specific to certain areas. Some support status quo; some question US interests; some couldn't find their ass with a flashlight, both hands and a guide animal. Within each outlet is a "reporter"/"journalist" who is more of the same in the micro version.

It takes time and energy and a will to actively participate in the "information highway." Sometimes I can take the time and energy though I always have the will.

edited for typo, of course

I started thinking about that within an hour of hearing about this yesterday. It's time to act and Obama is in a position of great strength. He connected with people yesterday. Even in my GOP puke home state they are talking about it.

to wonder if there is some motive behind saying that. If not now, then we just go on to the next news cycle and the tragedy becomes another link in the chain of gun violence and we wait for the next one because we know that to not do something now means there surely will be a next one and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next

It is sad, but true! This is the time to push for gun and mental health reform. Because let's face it. One without the other is like Batman going to face the Joker without his utility belt!
