How many times do we hear about a
mass shooting and friends and family later on state publicly that Johnny or Bobbie had been a really troubled person? Isn't that a bit late to be telling people? If you are a gun owner and you have a family member who is mentally, emotionally, or socially troubled you need to make sure that said family member can't get anywhere close to any guns in your home (for the safety of your family and the public). I know someone who kept a rifle in a closet. He had a son with a long history of emotional problems, trying suicide twice (pills) and being admitted to a Psych Ward. While his Dad was working out of town, he took his Dad's rifle, loaded it and committed suicide in front of his ex-girlfriend. His father worked out of town and had no business leaving a troubled young man alone with a gun in the house. I was not in the least surprised by what happened. The Dad will live with his son's death for the rest of his life. He gave the gun to the police to get rid of it. Too little too late.
