“Never expected it here”
“Never thought it could happen here”

I can only hope that those sitting on the fence concerning gun control
will finally have an awakening.

1. Yesterday morning before this news, someone was discussing her house hunting with me

She said that she wanted "diversity" but was concerned about crime. I said to her that crime is a concern, but you never know what's going to happen at any time. This event proves that. This town is a suburb of NYC. It's 1.5 hours by car which is within commuting distance. I heard that they've had 1 homicide in the last 10 years.

The trains are pretty direct. Getting into and out of the city takes a pretty long time. Trains can save you a lot of time.

People do it. This town is on the Danbury line. It's not even the furthest place to commute from.

That said, I would have to figure out a way to live closer to the city of my life ever takes me that way. 30 min to get to work is my limit.

11. For a 30 minute commute you'd have to live in the 5 boroughs or in Jersey City/Hoboken

It's easy to go over 30 minutes and real estate that close is generally expensive.

I hope you come to NYC. It's a great city.

8. Proof that we need national gun control.

The community of gun owners have proven they are incapable of securing their weapons from people who would kill. For our own security & safety, the rest of us must enact a national gun ban.

13. So you advocate a ban on all civilian owned guns?

I don't agree with such a position but everybody has a right to their own view.
