This episode will concentrate on two issues:

1. The tragedy in Connecticut and the right to keep and bear arms.

2. The actions of the Michigan governor and state legislature and the surrounding issues of proportional representation and the war on women and unions

I hope it goes well and you don't get pilloried by the opposition. Good luck and thanks for taking on those issues.

I was thinking you would be making such an announcement on this site because you were not in favor of the GOP's actions in that state of late and I was hoping you would be covering the tragedy in CT as someone who was seeking answers that weren't in line with the mindset of the Ted Nugents and Wayne LaPierres and Victoria Jacksons of our country.

Was I wrong?

If I was correct, I was only wishing you well as I am sure that if it's a call-in thing, there will be the crude folks making themselves known in unpleasant ways, that's all.

I wasn't sure, I have heard your name but didn't know your affiliations. I'm waaaay over here in high elevation Rocky Mountains and I don't get out much! Don't have TeeVee and only get two basically inadequate radio stations... and the Internet so I have to go looking for things to find them. I watch a couple news shows online and listen to NPR when they aren't doing church like they will all day tomorrow (the only NPR station around here is owned by the LDS and they do church all day on Sunday, no news). Thus, the Internet is what I am willing to pay for. Looks like I can catch it online so I'll give it a listen.

Good luck, thanks for carrying the topics that matter... I wouldn't be taking any calls if I were you...

Good on you, I'm sure you'll make some good arguments as food for thought.

The one percent maintains its power by instilling fear and a feeling of helplessness in the 99 percent.

Vulture capitalists destroy people's livelihoods for profit. That promotes fear and violence.

Banks and Wall Street steal people's savings for profit. That promotes fear and violence.

Medical insurance companies deny affordable health care to millions of Americans. That promotes fear and violence.

All the wars fought around the globe over the millenniums for profit or to defend religious ideology. That promotes fear and violence.

Moreover, there is slavery, the mistreatment of women and minorities, "school yard" (or work place) bullies, "road rage", and more.

Something to consider: Why did the U.S. spend hundreds of billions of dollars on a war in Iraq to get their oil when the U.S. could have bought the same oil for one-tenth the amount of money without all of the destruction?

One answer is the need for those who profit from violence to stir up fear and hatred in the useful pawns that those in power use against the victims of violence. The right wing media is a powerful propaganda tool for this purpose.

Senseless massacres like this create demand for weapons by those who think that they can defend themselves if they own more guns. The targets of these massacres are mostly defenseless people who are not threatening anyone. There is no sense in arming elementary school children.

However, school children are not the targets of this "advertising campaign". The mass murderers are terrorists who are valuable tools for selling more guns.

There are two activities that apparently help promote gun sales. Mass shootings and spreading rumors that the government is planning to take guns away from "sportsmen" or limit gun sales. That promotes fear and violence.

Fear sells. Hysteria sells. Pitting workers against one another means cheaper labor and reduced political opposition. Crazies can easily get guns because it benefits the one percent. Terror, that is, incomprehensible violence, is a tool of the one percent. One has to understand the "big picture".
