I might do the same if CNN had accused me of killing 26 people, the majority of them children, and CNN had blasted my picture over the airwaves. Of course, the gunman had supposedly killed himself by then, but what do facts matter when you can have the scoop on the competition?

But the killer's ID belonged to his brother. I'm not sure if anyone can reasonably expect a news organization to second-guess the ID once it was found.

A coterie of Sherlock Holmeses they aren't.

It sucks to be Ryan Lanza. Or anyone else in that family.
