Who is Alex Jones? Does anyone recognize this guy? Gun Rights

Here we are in the middle of one of the saddest days possible - 20 little children dead - and this is what he has out there:

He is just going on and on - "They are coming to take our guns!"

I am not an anti gun person. My family has always had guns. My father taught gun safety in Boy Scouts. He and my brother liked to target shoot.

But this stuff is way beyond crazy. This is so dangerous. These guys like Alex here and Rush and Beck just get all the wackos all worked up. Normal people watch this and just shake their heads and turn it off. But mentally ill people can really think all of this is real.

I am a firm supporter of the 1st Amendment - but should free speech be an excuse for this kind of garbage?

These people scare me to death. We have a lot of believers here in the Midwest. Up where I am they almost all go to Antioch Bible Baptist Church - a bible believing church.

I would like to go hear a sermon there some day but I'm afraid to. I would end up causing a big scene and then probably get shot. I think they all carry.

Does he really believe this stuff? Or is he like Rush and Beck and all those guys who make millions off their right wing rants.

but, unlike Limbaugh or Beck, he's not part of the Republican machine - he had various claims about Bush when he was president too, and therefore some DUers said then he was worth listening to. He has been at it for years, and runs a professional media operation - which those who are plain nuts tend not to manage.

He hated Glenn Beck for stealing his style and bringing it to the mainstream. He's about the money. The only thing Alex Jones ever really said that I thought was worthwhile, it was promoting Horizon milk since they say on their containers no hormones.

Now that the election is over it's been pretty dull. All he does is list every awful thing that has happened in the last 24 hours in the US and then tries to blame it all on liberals.

He needs to get a grip.

With the possible exception of David Koch, there's no more evil scumbag on the Right than this guy. He claims the government is practicing genocide in order to reduce the population and makes Limbaugh sound like Mike Farrell. If there's any national tragedy, he'll seize on it as purposely done by our government in order to gain acceptance for big power grabs. Truly disgusting stuff.

He's beyond the right. He's a complete fear-monger for fearmongering's sake. At least the regular, disgusting righties are all about more money for the rich. Jones is about making people completely insane with paranoia.

...as others have said upthread, this dude is a huckster. He attracts the extreme conspiracy nuts who also are Obama haters and pretty much everything haters. He's also big with the "preppers"...peddling them everything they need for that underground shelter. The more unhinged you are, the more sense he makes...
