FEAR: Made in America

Like the Batman rampage and the AZ Congresswoman Giffords shooting, the Connecticut violence will be blamed on mental illness. But those people are simply the most vulnerable to being manipulated by RW paranoia and are sometimes less equipped to use restraint when exposed to the incessant fear tactics that keep many of us Americans anxious and at our thresholds every day. The RW fear-mongering might as well be voices inside all our heads.

Catastrophes like this week’s massacre and tragedies on smaller scales are the predictable result of a manufactured fear which is fed and cultivated 24/7 by RW politicians and their complicit media, keeping everyone afraid, angry and right on the edge. Faux news, paranoid emails, Rush’s blabbering, Doomsday TV--they keep the fear percolating right below the surface so that every political argument somehow boils into an angry exercise in self-preservation. (Glen Beck actually bought into the survivalist company he advertises on his show, for Chrissakes. Sales were that brisk.) The drip-drip-drip of these gloom n doom messages ensures that the voters decide primarily on emotion and not rational thought; otherwise the damn Democrats might get in and regulate the fucking banking industry or stop offshore drilling or cancel plans for another aircraft carrier. No, no, no. Can’t have that. So they scare the piss out of everyone so they can sell more guns, take away our Rights in the interest of FreeDum and make sure half the budget goes to the military.

So yeah, without even knowing much of the background of Mr. Kid Killer, I do blame the Republicans for the escalation of horrible violence in the country. The point is, fear and distress are constantly being used as political tools. Pick your BogeyMan—the Russians, Saddam and his WMD’S, Bin Laden, Obama’s re-election—it doesn’t matter. They are all the changing faces of “fear by design.” And those poor school kids? Just collateral damage. In a sense, they just took one for the cause because their deaths will only make people even more afraid, will further polarize the masses and the survivalist whackjobs will now know for sure that the damn Liburls are going to try and amend their precious 2nd amendments.

there is a conscious effort to see to it that someone goes over the edge far enough to go after the President during a rampage. This week it was just a grammar school. I guess they'll have to keep the pressure on. Gun sales are up astronomically in recent months. It's not by accident.

Over the years republicans have found that the only way they can win is to use hate and fear tactics, put out for them by the likes of Beck, Limbaugh, fox news, and hate mongers on the right. As long as this kind of hate radio continues, we will have the problems, no matter what. Those who buy into the hate and fear will find a way to get their hands on guns no matter what the laws say. Just like illegal drugs, those who want to use them can find them, it's just a matter of having the right amount of money!

The right will never admit their role in all this, and they will continue to use the hate and fear as long as they continue to get voters to buy into the BS, and that's the problem.
