Right now everyone only wants to focus on mental illness, not the guns.

The mentally ill don't need any more stigma. Assigning every murderer who does something like this as some kind of mentally ill whackjob isn't helping anyone, especially those who are ambivalent about seeking help in the first place.

Or, what if these mass shootings were committed by Muslims and/or other "minorities" in this country? If that were the case, I believe regulations would have been tightened a very long time ago.

The authorities would have pegged him as a terrorist because of the gun culture stuff.

Instead, the family's love and abuse of guns was accepted.

The fact that any terrorist who made it into the US could get all the guns he needed here was discussed for about ten seconds after 9/11... and then set aside

the media. Since the shooters in these recent shootings seem to be overwhelmingly white men, killing a majority of white victims, they are at a loss as to whom to scapegoat.

he was the child of a member of the 1%. You cannot get a 250K alimony check from a father who is a VP at General Electric and be called middle class.
