Another shooting related rant. I am so sick of “good Christians”...

I am so sick of “good Christians” who continue to spout this idea that this shooting would not have happened if “god had been welcomed in the school”. This statement basically excuses and supports the actions of a weapon-loaded lunatic in the murder of innocent people. They would rather continue to spew hate, support their right-wing propaganda machine, and defend their twisted interpretation of the second amendment than support the rights of innocent people who should expect to not get shot in public, and who should be able to come home from school or the movies alive. I am not a particularly religious person; agnostic is probably a fairly accurate description. In fact, it is statements like this that keep me as far away from organized religion as I can get. However, it seems to me that there was evidence of a better-ness that was present in that school, in the midst of that horrific event that they could use to sell people like me on their god. How about, “God was present in the form of those selfless educators who chose to stand between a gun-toting murderer and those innocent children; who sacrificed themselves so that others could live.” Now, that’s a God I would be willing to get to know. Why isn’t this the story they try to tell? I am so tired of these people choosing to use their “goodness” to fling hate everywhere.

Of course "god forsaking" is a convenient excuse for anything. God allows church killings because the US government disrespects him. No less logical than any other musing about how god works.

How come god does allow so many cruel things happen to the most innocent of his children? My only explanation is: god is a human concept, not a really existing entity. How can anyone believe in god is loving anyone when they know about what has been going in this world for thousands of years?

What I would like these idiots to explain is how a bible-reading or a prayer to start the day at Sandy Hook would have prevented the shooter from coming there? They make no sense with that argument.

Who wants anything to do with a God who would spitefully kill children because someone didn't lead a prayer in a classroom.

Any real Christian knows that God is everywhere. No one can take God away from you.

say it was the devil instigating things. Oh, and mental illness is caused by sin. I had to walk away from the discussion.
