You Have To Have The Proper Mindset To Use Your Gun -----

Being armed is not enough for most people. You have to have the mindset and the training to use a weapon. Being armed probably would not help in the situation because the gunman already had a drop on the situation. In a firefight most hits are lucky and more rounds go astray then anything else. Your chances of hitting something even at close range are low unless you get lucky.

Then you have to be mentally ready to fire without thought. Less than tenths of a second determine the outcome. So all this bull about arming people is just that. Look at how many armed police are gunned down and they are trained for such situations. Unless they are unholstered and ready they will usually lose. And too many times they lose because their first shot missed or did no neutralize the gunman. And since this kid had body armor only a head shot would stop him. Had the police arrived in time to engage before the carnage it would have taken multiple hits with armor piercing bullets to get through the Kevlar.

Look at that robbery a few years ago where all the robbers were armored. It took the police a long time to take them down. They were hitting these shooters point blank repeatedly and only got them when the got close enough to put a bullet in the seam or gap in the armor around the arms, legs or neck.

train so heavily. Their training has to kick in automatically when they are under fire and under pressure. Also, they have to learn respect for the weaponry they are using. It is a heavy responsibility to fire a weapon.

3. Your story is useless-

the fact is that most officers never need to use their weapons.

I will happily not have some paranoid dink make decisions about shooting or not.

Nobody likes the idea of a certain few having guns. We have to make some decisions, though.

I'll give up my guns if it can help. I do not worry about some completely stupid idea that the government will do thus and such, the arguments about what governments do before complete fascism are nuts. Nuts.

This fabricated basic human "right" is a joke. I'm willing to do my part.

I do get to tell you how to exercise your rights.

I bet, I BET-that you would agree that these crazy parents who refuse their kids medical care because they like to appeal directly to the creator should not be in ANY position to make good decisions for their kids. This, to me, is common sense, and not some infringement on religious rights.

So I am telling these fucknuts how they can and cannot exert their rights.

And I get to tell you how you get to exercise your your rights as well. I am a very sensible person. I would bet that we would agree upon what you can and cannot do.

you have fun, too.

I would bet we agree on most things. This is not one of them.

I do not understand the paranoia of gun-toters-

You are right about one thing--I suspect I will lose the constitutional argument -way to go.

I get no joy from winning or losing.

legitimacy. Our Constitution requires the federal government to protect those rights.

I support all those rights whether enumerated or unenumerated.
