The shooter was raised in gun nuttery. Imagine if he had been a Muslim

Then there would be endless speculation on if "radicalism" played a role in the tragedy. What about the possibility of radicalism in the form of the survivalist gun culture?

Guess which form of nuttery primarily exists in white middle class suburbia and which form of nuttery primarily exists amongst brown people?

Not hard to imagine that the mom's survivalist midset and the presence of all these weapons playeed a role...maybe the main one.

and the killing done in the name of Islam, then, at least, there would be some meaning to it all.
As it is, it looks like an absurd act committed for no reason by a man with no spirit.
If he were an Islamist, then there would be some coherency to it all, even if the pain remained great for decades.

I'm being barraged by replies that this is some disease that he had.

I say it was the raising.

And I feel that this is an extremely important distinction. One that we really ought to discuss. And without name calling. It feels as if even as we try to make the world a better place, people are having a hard time being clear and open about this.

I'm calling out parenting, if I need to be more clear.

But we're aiming in the right direction. All of this "rugged individual" crap that we've all grown up with. It's time for sensitivity.

Maybe, just maybe we can work together and build a better world. It's why I came to this forum.

Surprise! Use guns to solve (whatever) problems (they happen to have).

People who aren't taught that guns solve problems rarely consider guns as problem solving devices.

This is a big shock to anyone who is a fucking moron.
