Guns in America,a statistical look

ABC news. 8/25/2012

ATF reports. that in 2010 5,459,240 new firearms were manufactured in the US and a additional 3,252,404 firearms were imported to the US.

As of August 1st the ATF reports that more than 129,817 federally licensed firearm dealers in the US. Of that number there are 51,438 retail gun stores.7,356 are pawn shops and 61,562 are collectors.

In 2010 the National Criminal Instant Background Check ran 16,454,951 background checks for firearm purchases.Only 78,211 or 0.48% were denied.

According to the FBI Uniform Crime Report, between 2006 and 2010 47,856 people were murdered in the US by firearms,more than twice as many as were killed by all other means combined.

We already have guns for almost every man, woman, and child in the US.

We don't need any more.
