She did seem like a stand up law-abiding citizen. If stockpiling high powered weaponry were illegal, seems to me people intent on building or obtaining arsenals would be up to no good. Immediately there is probable cause for some mischief.

If they want to get their firearm fix why not just rent one in a controlled environment?

The thought process behind collecting guns is rather opaque to me. But then I grew up with them and they aren't remotely mysterious or entertaining or cool to me; they're what you carry with you out on the back 40 in case you run into a snake or coyote. They're about as interesting as a chain saw.
