When the Secret Service shoots someone to death for attempting to throw an unknown substance at the president, I'm sure everyone involved will think it is hilarious.

and I believe he would laugh too.

And I like him and support him for the most part.

As a statement the glitter bomb is ingenious. It makes a great point about the gay community in a fun and totally harmless way. Even those who get glittered usually end up smiling about it.

Really. You don't know me at all.

I also like the way Code Pink uses a slip to make a point about pink slips.

This borders on the legal definition of assault if you ask me.

I wouldn't say that cherokeeprogressive is "better" than most people, for the simple reason that most people do not throw things at others, and it is only rare exceptions such as yourself who seem to believe that such behavior is acceptable.

No. We already know what the glitter bomb is so that shows it's actually a very good form of protest.

As for those who don't know what it means, are you going to base everyone's actions and speech on the reactions of who's the most ignorant? Do you think dumbing everything down even more is the way to go?

I do not beleive it is a good idea to distract security during campaign events by assaulting a candidate.

Dallas streets, motel verandas, on sidewalks getting into their Presidential cars, and on and on. Equating glitter with bullets is asinine.

Someone throwing glitter DISTRACTS ATTENTION of those responsible for keeping an eye out for other things.

There is no way to read what I wrote as equating glitter to bullets.

While the glitter bomber is being an asshole, someone else has an opportunity to pull a gun.

But humans are not capable of accurately transmitting their mental states to one another.

For this purpose, we have developed the contrivance of language.

One of the problems with language is that people often do not understand that while they are perfectly aware of their mental state and intended meaning, their expression of same in the form of language does not unambiguously convey those things.
