And this was before the ill fated SCOTUS nomination by Reagan in 1987 of a man who pissed on the Constitution in 1973 at the behest of Richard Nixon.

Then again, time has gone very, very fast in the past 25 years when he was up for the USSC nomination.

I well remember his role in the "Saturday Night Massacre" back in 1973. That action alone disqualified him from any kind of high court position.
