Senator Bernie Sanders Opposes Obama Proposal To Cut Social Security, Veterans Benefits

Kind of interesting that all the veterans groups showed up to support Sanders. New coalition?

--

Leaders of The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and other veterans’ organizations on Wednesday joined Sen. Bernie Sanders to denounce proposals to cut veterans’ disability benefits as part of a year-end deal on deficits.

A member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee and the Budget Committee, Sanders said there are better approaches to deficit reduction than slashing benefits for more than 3 million disabled veterans and their families.

“We must do deficit reduction, but not by cutting programs for people who lost arms, legs and eyes defending our country,” Sanders said. “We must not balance the budget on the backs of men and women who already sacrificed for us in Iraq and Afghanistan.”

sooner or later the low income conservatives will see what they are doing to them and watch how fast they drop them because they won't have nothing left along with the rest of us. They are to stupid to realize they are being used and bought for by the Koch Brothers and other corporations. when the light finally shines they are going to feel really stupid. I hope my daughter-in-laws grandparents are the first to see that light. They are poor, get food stamps, hate the black man in the white house and voted republicans. Even if they get hurt going over the cliff I will be happy to say I freakin told you so you dumb fing rednecks.

Thank you, Senator Sanders, for standing up for Americans.

Cut the bribes to Afghanistan and Pakistan for starts.

Then cut the military budget. See what happens if we cut that in half and subsidize industries that can hire the engineers now working in defense. Those companies hiring those engineers will innovate and put us ahead of the world in technology. The nation that leads in technology leads the world. We proved that before and can prove it again. We need to be that nation.
