I really hope that's just because of what drinks Newt was serving that night, but I doubt it. That was honestly one of the most disturbing political videos I've seen.

It's not because he agrees with the asshole who shouted it.

It's because he quickly calculated that it would be more expedient for him not to repudiate it.
That's the way Newt thinks about everything, whether it's his next wife, or his next move.

If Obama came out and supported millions for cancer research, Newt would check to see if
the radical right was interested in curing cancer, and if not, he would say that Obama was
onyl interested in wasting taxpayer money for frivolous medical adventures. If the radical
right WERE interested in spending millions for finding a cure cor cancer, Gingrich would then
bash Obama for not spending enough on it.

Tom Lehrer once wrote about Wernher von Braun: "a man whose allegiance is ruled by expedience."
Von Braun disengaged himself from Nazism. Maybe some day Gingrich will do the same--when it's
expedient to do so, of course.
