(110,159 posts)i cannot, do not want to hear one more ugly story.
then friday.....
does it get any more ugly.
with the fighting and nasty on du, i have not even been able to be online. and it has felt good.
and here i sit, looking at these pictures. yes. this. this effects so many, so strongly.
it has changed my behavior the last week in so many ways.
just my interaction/connection of family, nieces and nephews and those i love.
this.

(39,384 posts)at least part of my reaction is my own shame for not always fully appreciating what I have and making it fully apparent to those I love how much I need and appreciate them. I read about the victims and their families and I realize how much they had, and lost, I realize how much I have, and I wonder why I let my mind go down so many rabbit holes.

(110,159 posts)i have always been one that tends to seeing the best, and not seeing, ignoring, forgetting the bad. but, i get it. because in the last week, i have really been looking at sons, and nieces/nephews, all teens or early 20's and appreciating their successes, who they are, their character and i have been sure to express in words and hugs....
yes. so much.

(8,556 posts)Sometimes it's good to remember that we're one world . . . one planet. We're in this together. Most of the time we lose sight of that. But every once in a while, good folks remind us of that fact.

(13,776 posts)It's so easy to forget that the majority of people are good and caring. We don't always do a great job of showing it, but it's there underneath.
Thank you for collecting and sharing these pictures. They're very consoling.

(38,187 posts)they are most likely to know more about America's bombs than most, yet they still feel compassion and empathy for Americans like that. That is taking the high road. Those children are precious. They seem to have already learned from the adults' mistakes. That is actually a relief. Maybe there is hope for peace in the future if the children of today continue to be as compassionate and empathetic as they seem to be.
I just hope the majority in America can return the favor, and show more empathy toward other people in other countries in the future.
