New Seattle/Tacoma affiliate for the Thom Hartmann show, non-commercial KBCS 91.3 FM

Starting 1/2/13. Thom just announced on his show today, as his current Seattle/Tacoma affiliate AM 1090 will flip to sports in the turn of the new year. Already, Tacoma station KLAY 1180 has decided to carry Ed Schultz and Stephanie Miller shows for 2013. Now, Seattle-area listeners can hear the non-commercial version of Thom Hartmann over the air! Instead of commercials one can hear Thom's "On the News" segments, bonus calls, and even Workers' Independent News.

I live in CA, but I stream the Seattle station. I'm so glad to find a good alternative. The SF station went to Glenn Beck a while back. Yech.

Either with the video stream, noncom stations like WFTE or MAIN FM, or sometimes via iHeartRadio. I hope the KBCS move influences other noncom stations like KPFA in the bay area or KPFK in LA to pick up Thom. Both markets don't have a commercial station that can carry his show live. That way, Thom can be heard in new markets, like Fresno (which has a rebroadcaster of KPFA) and Houston ( pacifica affiliate KPFT).

960 in SF at least still carries Randi Rhodes and Norman Goldman live then a financial show, Stephanie, Thom, and Mike Malloy through the night.

The owners of AM 1090 can kiss my ass. Loyal listener for 8 years, and this is the thanks I get?

Fuck 'em. Hello KLAY!

That's what to expect with Big Media right there. Time to roll back the 1996 telecom act.

Community-supported. And, they also air Democracy Now! - or, at least, they did when I lived there. It was the only thing that kept hubby and me sane during the darkest Bush years.

So sorry for the tardy reply - holidays and all that.

Yes, you can get it in Seattle - that is where I lived. Even here in Colorado, I get it via the interwebs.
