(55,147 posts)Giving the award since 1999. Not Hillary Clinton personally (With the exception of the time she has been the Secretary of State).

(32,610 posts)I was being sarcastic. I just get so tired of the gratuitious Hillary bashing on DU.
I know it is used to redirect disappointment in Obama but it just gets old.

Good corporate citizens should be honored. They do exist. It shows that profit can be made responsibly. IMO, I think it's a good program.

(48,121 posts)JP Morgan, Enron, Verizon, McGraw-Hill/S&P, Winstar - there was good and bad.
Leadership high up could be really bad, but a lot of hard working people that worked on projects for the community.
At Chase my team and I raised money for the adopt a family program and each year we adopted several of them and made their Christmases a little better (food/gifts for all the family members, etc). At S&P we had a charity a month we sponsored, from animals to kids to cancer.
We can celebrate the good and the bad, the people of America can be wonderful, but leaders like bush can make us all look bad

(11,415 posts)companies have been honored here too. Even if it's and international liaison enhancer, I am glad it encourages more good works. I watched the video of the presentations and I heard a lot of amazing works that were done by corporations during the Palestinian earthquake and how in Nigeria Proctor and Gamble is educating women on child care and making sure clean water is more available. This may be over blown but I can see other corporation wanting this award and if it helps people in need, I am all for it.
This seems a very far cry Bush awarding Metal of Freedom medals to his cronies when they deserved prison for there actions against humanity.
