Adam Lanza also was an organic vegan with a conservative worldview, he said.
He was actually politically aware for a teenager, he said.
He was always very free-market economics and capitalism, as I think most people are in this country.

I have met some conservative young people. Mostly it seems they are being contrarian. Same with other behaviors. Sometimes they do things just to piss of or annoy teachers and other adults. I did that, my kids did that, and I know many others that have to. After Columbine I saw a lot of discrimination against kids who were different.
Daughter of a friend of mine told me a great story. They had a fundie prig of an English teacher as high school seniors. They were given an assignment to write a persuasive 1 page letter. The friend wrote a letter to Dr. Evil suggesting a way to take over the world. For that she got an F and a referral for a counseling/psych eval. Her parents rolled in and the teacher held fast. Finally the principal, who had seen the movies, read the paper and stepped in. Another teacher graded it, and the student was told to knock if off. About as good a resolution as one got those days. It has not gotten much better since.
