Idiot wingnut I used to work with is going crazy on Facebook tonight.

What would possess anyone to post crap about guns and stupid pictures of President Obama on Christmas Eve? And Hillary and Bill Clinton too.

Not a word about Christmas. Just stupid crap criticizing liberals and promoting guns, the NRA and the GOP.

I will never understand the hate these people have in their hearts. Guns on Christmas Eve? Huh???

they post articles from the Washington Examiner, the Heritage Foundation, The Federalist, etc. One even writes a RW column for a RW organization.

I wouldn't defriend them as I want to know what's going on in their lives and see photos of their families.

But, I use the "hide" click very quickly.

i've got plenty of rightie-puke friends on FB, i choose to ignore their drivel when it comes to politics. they know that i don't agree with 99% of what they do, but thankfully we've reached an unspoken agreement not to argue politics.... cookie recipes are another matter...

look at it this way, you're doing a good deed for someone else who probably really needs a friend... if he's as horrible as you say he is... then he REALLY needs a friend.

When the Nixon administration used a minor drug conviction in England as a pretext for kicking the politically outspoken Lennon out of the country, the city rallied behind him. The Hall of Fame exhibition includes a letter from Mayor John V. Lindsay to the Immigration and Naturalization Service recounting Lennon’s charitable and artistic contributions to New York and requesting that he be permitted to stay.

(SNIP)

By the time the couple began working on the album “Double Fantasy” in 1980, life in New York seemed to be on firmer — and safer — footing, though it was still raw enough that in 1979 Lennon and Ono donated $1,000 to purchase bullet-proof vests for the city’s police force.

have given crazies a large political platform from which to spew their insanity. I only hope it's not too contagious. And mixed in with this is the immaturity of it all ... many adults today are exceptionally childish and dangerous.

Warm and soft and cuddly. No wait, I see guns for what they are for. They are for killing things. Cold and hard and soulless.
Talk about people with hate? I know of some parents of some missing first graders who may disagree with who is really hating who.

I've never seen anyone on DU being "mocked" for celebrating Christmas/Christmas Eve. They rightly point out the fallacy of December 25 being Jesus' birthday, the paganism behind the date, etc., but I don't see anyone being "mocked" for wanting to celebrate the holidays.

I found one of the participants in the computer room during the proceedings looking at at assault rifles on some gun trading website, his nine year old daughter looking over his shoulder.

Not a blood relative thankfully.
