(1,361 posts)I'm a sour puss on kid photos too. But George Carlin came to the rescue.
(paraphrase)
At your age, you become grandparents or you know grandparents as your peers. Thus, you've been shown photo after photo of your friends' grand kids. And, like me, you're tired of it. Ya can't just keep on saying you agree how cute the kid is because that just encourages 'em. You'll see 15 more next week and 20 more after the kid's 2nd birthday party. And forget about the Bar Mitzvah. Then, you've got two hours of video to look at.
What do ya do? The thing is to head it off at the pass. Stop it before it gets too far. So when grandma takes out the first photo, ya give it a quick astonished look and say,
"Will ya look at the fuckin' head on that kid. How're you ever gonna find a hat to fit that head?"
The problem will be solved

That is one cute baby. I love the two "widdle toofers" showing when she smiles.

I want to see President Obama on the deck of The Enterprise.

(36,458 posts)It's used to dress and repair the putting green, plus it has a detachable ball marker. Back in my days, we simply used a tee for the green repair and a dime for marking a ball.

(23,926 posts)On those rare occasions when I stripe an approach shot, with a nice high flight that lands the ball on the green, it leaves a small divot on the putting surface. The device on the Presidents hat is used to gently dig under the divot and raise the grass back upwards. Then you tamp it down with your putter to restore the green to it's former pristine beauty. Then you attempt to stand there casually and act like you hit that kind of shot all the time!

(51,660 posts)It clips onto your baseball cap's bill and is made in the USA, invented by a great So. Cal. company, Golf Design. I'm tickled to see that since a good friend of mine works there. I'm guessing the green ball marker is the logo of the golf course he is playing at, but Golf Design can put just about any design on that ball marker:

Used to replace the big chunks of earth that sometimes get torn up while golfing.
More interesting, though, is that it's from the Augusta National Golf Club, host to the Masters tournament and one of the most famous (and prettiest) golf courses around.

(8,646 posts)Why don't people ask, "why do parents put those things on baby boy's heads?" when a baby boy is wearing a baseball cap?
Besides, even when a baby girl is all dressed up in pink, there will always be at least one person asking how old HE is. Or, conversely, my brother was always labeled a girl by strangers because he had long-ish curly hair and long eyelashes, despite being very husky for his age (strong husky, not overweight) and always wearing hockey jerseys and carrying around his favorite truck or tractor. Some people really can't tell - or don't care to try.
