Smirking Chimp is 12 Years Old Today. Hard To Believe It Was 12 Years Ago

that Bush/Cheney stole an election. I was on Smirking Chimp before Democratic Underground V.1 and remember after 9/11 a poster named Bethesda asked essentially "where is the manifesto". It was a while later we began to hear about Project for a New American Century and how it was looking for a major terrorist assault to use as impetus for radical rightward changes in our foreign & domestic policy.

I haven't posted on Smirking Chimp in many years. Democratic Underground has an easier to read website. My old handle there was ChimpChange. I learned a lot there and here too.

So Happy Birthday to smirkingchimp. There were a few beacons of light in those dark days as we tried to figure out wtf was going on and trying to change the tide.

I just can't believe it was 12 years ago.

I went to Smirking Chimp first and then came here. I haven't posted there in years either, but I read their stuff almost daily. Wow-- 12 years-- damn, time passes fast!
